I have realized that in this short life we have nothing to lose. Dive into new things and make brand new friends. Speak the truth, be kind, and spread love. After all, what do you have to lose?
Laugh more than you cry, but cry when necessary. Take a break. Go on an adventure. After all, what do you have to lose?
Travel the world. Sit in your bed and watch movies all day. Write a story. Read a book. After all, what do you have to lose?
Go on a run. Lay out to stargaze. Take a nap. Stay up all night talking to friends. After all, what do you have to lose?
Eat good food. Go to bed early. Sing a song. Play with a small child. Walk the dog. After all, what do you have to lose?
Nothing, right? Those are the easy things. They're the things that affect you. But what about others? Do you have something to lose?
Take a stand. Protect the ones you love. Be brave. Be mature. After all, what do you have to lose?
Support something you believe in. Speak the words you believe to be true. Live out your morals and keep your standards high. After all, you've got everything to lose. But if you stay a sincere and genuine person, the world somehow will repay you in wondrous ways.

The Breakfast Club
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
The Breakfast Club is such an interesting movie. It's funny, really, because it isn't actually all that interesting of a story. There is no alternate universe, forbidden love, battle sequence, mystery that needs to be solved, or dramatic ending. It's just a group of five kids sitting in detention on a Saturday. What's so special about that? Well, let me tell you: Everything.
This movie demonstrates how so many stereotypes are just that. They're stereotypes. There is so much more to them. Each person is an individual and categorizing them into stereotypes serves no real purpose.
First there is John Bender the "criminal". He's your typical badass that breaks all the rules and has zero boundaries. Basically, he is the classic bad boy. Next you have "athlete" Andrew Clark. He's an in shape wrestler who hangs with all the sporty kids. Of course there is the "nerd" Brian Johnson. He is the one who doesn't have girlfriends and is not considered popular at all. The "basket case" is Allison Reynolds. This girl is really a mess and does not have her life together at all. Finally you have the "princess" Claire Standish.
All five of these kids are just categorized as a criminal. athlete, nerd, basket case, and princess. The Breakfast Club is a realistic interpretation of high school because real world high schools are made up of stereotypes. There are the jocks, druggies, band geeks, nerds, try hards, cheerleaders, preps, overly nice people, overly mean people, and everything else in between.
Stereotypes are judging books by their covers.
You later learn that Allison the basket case is actually a compulsive liar who has to visit a psychiatrist. The athlete named Andrew hates his father and is constantly pressured to be better than everyone else. The brainy Brian has considered suicide as an easier option that holding all A's. John the criminal is physically and verbally abused by his parents. Even princess Claire is constantly teased for being a virgin.
All five kids have a dark secret that they are finally able to share with a group of practical strangers. They bond over their differences and even find love. They make friends in an unexpected place: detention.
Now I'm not saying go off and get yourself stuck in Saturday detention (this isn't the 80's people), but why not broaden your horizons. Maybe your new best friend is in a clique you'd never regularly associate with. Perhaps the love of your life is friends with a group of kids who intimidates you. Whatever the case, just open up your heart.
Take some advice from The Breakfast Club and realize that life is an imperfect place. Make new friends and take chances. You've really got nothing to lose.

Well I'm telling you to not let that happen. Go live life and defy all standards. Until next time xxx.

Three Words: I Love You
This week, I've been absolutely bombarded with homework, papers, and tests. I genuinely apologize for the lack in posts because I hope you all love reading as much as I love writing. (P.S. Thank you for over 2,500 views on Little Thoughts, Big Ideas). I did want to post something small and a bit thought provoking.
The words "I love you," are so small. Three words and three syllables. Sometimes they can be said in a haste. Other times they can be deep and meaningful.
The one thing I truly hate about saying love is that love is such a deep emotion. Hate is fairly deep as well. What really is love? I think it is feeling so strong about something that you would do absolutely anything to keep it. Love is so much bigger than it's definition. Love is not just a word and "I love you," is not just a phrase. It's a deeper emotion than some of us can even wrap our head around.
We all know what love is. We just don't know how to word it. Sometimes, people mix emotions and confuse things for love. If you have to convince yourself you love someone or something, you probably don't.
Never say, "I love you," if you aren't 100% positive. Understanding yourself first is key.
Remember to love whole heartedly! Until next time xxx.

Shuffling It Up- Ultimate iPod Playlist
This was inspired by Mackenzie herself. Then Hannah copied Mackenzie, so now I am copying both of them. It is such a fun idea and I am almost nervous to see what 10 songs pop up on my iPod. All you have got to do is click shuffle! I added a little bonus and picked one word I thought best described the song (at least how it makes me feel). So here you go:
1. Defying Gravity by cast of Wicked
Empowering
3. Lucky by Jason Mraz (feat. Colbie Caillat)
Precious
4. Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys
Motivational
5. Goodnight Goodnight by Maroon 5
Bittersweet
6. Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars
Energetic
7. All About You by McFly
Sweet
8. Skins by Zola Jesus
Tragic
9. Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Beautiful
10. Video Games by Lana Del Rey
Sad
BONUS! I had to include this song, because I typically hate country, but love the story in this song.
11. Travelin' Soldier by Dixie Chicks
I hope you enjoyed this list! It is just what came on when I clicked shuffle. If you have never heard any of these songs I would totally recommend listening to them. Let me know what you think! Until next time xxx.

The Tumblr World
It is official! I have joined the Tumblr world once and for all!
http://isabelsfab.tumblr.com I absolutely love it so far! I am now all over social media!
Pinterest http://www.pinterest.com/isabelfabela/ where I have well over 5,000 pins and around 3,000 likes! I will admit that it is a bit of an obsession for me but I have no shame! It's easy to get lost in the Pinterest world after a long and busy week or just a tiring, stressful day.
I'm also on Instagram! http://instagram.com/isabel_fab I love it so because I have a passion for photography. It's just so intriguing so definitely check that out as well!
I definitely consider the three links above to be the most "artsy." I hope you all take the time to check them out and let me know what you think! I'm brainstorming a few super interesting ideas for the next couple blog topics! I'm not sure how busy everything will get with homework, projects, and of course, THE SUPER BOWL (go Broncos!). I promise the next posts will be amazing! Until next time xxx.

Life is a Dash
I completely thought of this topic in a matter of minutes, so I apologize it if makes no sense. Usually I like to think out what I'm going to write in advance, but I just had to get this down.
Now, I'm not sure where I heard this. It may have been a movie, book, or just a random quote. Yet I really love it and I hope you love it just as much.
So everyone has seen a cemetery. If not, you know what a headstone looks like. Let's pretend I was born in the year 1800 and I died in the year 1875. On the headstone it would read 1800-1875. If you can see, there is the slightest dash between the 1800 and the 1875. It is so small. Just a minuscule line that is supposed to account for your entire life. This is your life: -
Just a dash. If you genuinely think about your life, right now is not even a percentage of that dash. The past five years make up the smallest part of your own dash.
So how are you living your life? Are the things you doing even affecting the length of your dash? I mean, what is even in a dash? Look at all of time. Billions and billions of years. One person's life is literally nothing to all that time.
Not that your life is nothing. Your life is something. But it is only significant if you make it great. Build your dash. Live out your dreams. Watch the sunrise and fall asleep on a beach. Travel, read lots of books, and eat bizarre foods. Drink tea and talk to interesting people. Expand your horizons and live on the edge. Stay at a tiny motel in the middle of no where. Go star gazing. Build a snowman. Dance. Sing. Write.
More important than all of that is standing up for what you believe in. Be different. Change someone's life. Be kind to those who are not kind to you. Be confident and spread grace wherever you go. Stay positive and do fun things. Build your dash. Make it important. Be memorable and be so generous that others will always remember you. Do everything for the right reasons. Always have a pure heart and genuine intentions. That way, when someone sees your dash, they know you really had one. Until next time xxx.

Life's Test
I'm sitting in front of the keyboard crying because I don't know what to say. I know what I want to say, but I'm not sure how to word it. Sometimes it's hard to describe feelings. They aren't tangible. They are just there inside you and sometimes there is no proper way to express them. I can try my best. Occasionally, writing encourages me to get my emotions out. It's like sitting at a computer and bleeding all your feelings out into words.
Life is a test. It isn't the sort of test you can study and prepare yourself for. It's practically thrown at you. There are good and bad parts of life. There are the parts that no one understands. When something negative is thrown at you, all you can do is ponder why something like that would happen to someone like you.
You may not be a perfect person, no one is, but you certainly didn't deserve this. The people you love don't deserve to be in this situation either. It seems so senseless. Why? Why do these things happen to us? They shouldn't be happening to anyone.
You're just left standing there forgetting how to breathe. It's like the world has momentarily frozen and everything that ever made sense is wiped away.
Bad things have happened before. Sometimes, bad occurrences bring about positive changes. I know this from personal experience. It's difficult to understand that horrible events really can lead to an improved outcome. But they can. You simply must believe that everything happens the way it's supposed to.
Life isn't only a test you can pass, but it's a journey you create. Sure, life is going to knock you down. Heck, it may even take a few punches at you and throw you down a hill. You may get some bruises and wounds. Yet, if you stand up taller and stronger than before, you'll always win.
Yes, it can be challenging to pull yourself together and face your challenges. Personal growth and achievement takes time. I continue to struggle with the "why" in life. Why has this happened? Why? Why did this happen to people I care about? The list goes on.
After life beats you up, it's not always easy to pull yourself up. What I'm working on is staying positive. If you're able to smile when you feel like crying, you're already a strong person.
Sometimes when life closes a door, ten more open. Opportunities flourish and hope hangs in the air like perfume. Don't get down. Stand right back up. Create opportunities. Build the life you want. Keep your chin up. With love, any obstacle can be overcome. And goodness do I love my family more than anything else. Until next time xxx.
