The LBD

Fashion.  It is so much more than a word.  To me, it is a form of art and expression.  It also happens to be an essential ingredient to the recipe that is life.
On that note, I am going to begin by saying that a child I was not impeccably dressed by any means.  Like any average, awkward seven year old, I wore khaki capris, shirts with built in hoods, and many other horrendous pieces.  Yet as I grew, I began to fall in love with clothes and all that could be done with them.  I absolutely adore mixing and matching different prints and textures.  It would be a dream to be a professional stylist or shopper.
The saddest part of this story, is that many of my fellow peers do not feel the same way as I do towards fashion.  They consider them "clothes" not "couture."  It is a huge tragedy, because I am constantly judged for wearing a skirt and tights, instead of short shorts and flip flops.  If I honestly cared what people thought about my clothes, I would wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt, because that would be the way to fit in.
The thing is that teenagers are suddenly trying to be "fashionable" by wearing a simple cardigan over a plain tank top, or a too tight "pencil skirt" (which is really just a bandage dress taken to extremes).  Also, the majority believe that wearing a jean jacket over anything makes it more formal (and yes, jean jackets are coming back.  I do love my jean jacket, but still).  This may seem silly, but it is quite frustrating for me.
Two things of life I try to live by are: WWBW?  and WWKD?  You are most likely confused.  Let me explain.  WWBW= What would Blair wear?  Blair as in Waldorf from Gossip Girl (as stated in past posts as one of my favorite shows).  If you were to Google Blair Waldorf, an array of wonderful, couture pieces of clothing would show up.  She never fails to dress perfectly, no matter the occasion.
WWKD= What would Kate do?  Kate as in Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge (she happens to be one of my biggest role models.  I idolize her).  As I go about my days, I think to myself, what would Kate do?  Since she is a royal, she behaves a certain way.  Let's just say she is Miley's exact opposite.  The duchess also has an amazing taste in clothes and always pulls of the most tailored pieces.
Blair and Kate would never be caught moping around the Upper East Side or London in sweats and a ratty hoodie.
Another pet peeve I have is white Vans.  Every girl within a 1000 mile radius owns a pair.  They are fine I suppose, except for the fact that they are worn until they turn a brownish yellow color, and begin to rip.  I opt for the more classic Keds, because they remind me of the 1950s, and that is one time period I wish I had lived in (another being the 20s, because Gatsby).
Some girls feel most comfortable in a plain t-shirt and jeans, and that is absolutely okay.  If you are confident in what you wear, then props to you.  I could just never feel confident enough.  That is why I enjoy wearing headbands, tights, pearls, blazers, dresses, and ballet flats almost everyday (not all at the same time, of course).  I also, like everyone, has those days when I just feel bloated, exhausted, and plain ugly.  So sometimes I will just pull on a sweatshirt, jeans, and Keds.  While I usually feel crappy, I manage perfectly fine.
I honestly do not know what my life would be without fashion because I just love it so much.  It brings me an incredible amount of joy and sense of confidence.  I am in no way trying to state that my taste is superior.  It just becomes a little boring when everyone your age is dressed the exact same.  I strive for variety, because I think it makes the world so much more interesting.  Yet we all have those bad days.  The sort of days when not even I can manage to curl my hair.  You just have to pick yourself up and put of the LBD.  Now, here are about 67292947 pictures of BW and KM.  These are some of my favorite outfits of theirs (I'm not including about 3456789876).  Enjoy!  Until next time xxx.

                                                                     Love the browns.

                                                                           Simple.

Love the bow on the yellow, and black sparkles.

White lace and black tights?  Perfect.

 Lovely navy lace.

Look at the detail on the blouse! And the bow in her hair!

The cream and white are in nice contrast with black wedges.

 Sailor vibe!
I love the buttons on her pants and top.

A stunning diamond belt and cashmere sweater.

 Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle.

 Love the peacoat-esque feel.

 ALL HAIL COUTURE.

This has a real sailor vibe.

Royal blue and nude pumps are a winner combination.

The red purse  is to die for.

Loving the skirt and blouse contrast here.

 Very Springy!  Adore the headband.

White and more white really adds to the summer feel.

Is that an updo with a headband I see?  And love the floral with a hint of shimmer!

How can you not love this?

Nude heels again=love.  Not to mention the buttons on the yellow dress!

*****My all time favorite KM look****

Cream dresses and ensembles never disappoint.  A classic look.
