The Best Things About Summer

Summer is finally here and finally it is starting to feel like my favorite season.  Summer is such a great season in my opinion because everything is alive.  The trees are green and the afternoon thunderstorms light up the skies.  The summer breeze floats in through open windows and people are just energized by all the sunlight!  I think about all the things that make summer so splendid and goodness are there a lot.

  • No school
  • No waking up before the sun has risen (unless you want to)
  • So much time to read lots of great books
  • Time to write
  • Otter Pops
  • Tanning
  • Working at the day camp
  • Cute summer clothes
  • Vacations (via airplane and the most adventurous: road trips)
  • Stargazing
  • Long walks in the late afternoon
  • Watching movies when it gets too hot and cranking up the AC
  • Sleeping with the window open
  • Staying up late
  • Pretty sunsets that can be enjoyed
  • Key lime pie
  • Lemonade
  • Frozen Yogurt
  • Shopping at outdoor malls
  • Spending time with friends
  • Spending time alone to rejuvenate yourself
  • Flexible schedules
  • More daylight
  • My birthday
  • My mom's birthday
  • My dad's birthday
  • Backyard BBQs
  • Bike rides
  • Driving with the windows rolled down
  • Summer music playlists
  • Fourth of July (and fireworks)
  • Bonfires
While there are a lot more wonderful things about summer, those are some of my favorites.  Summer flies by so enjoy every minute!  Until next time xxx.

The Stress of College

"Stressed" is not a large enough word to describe how I am feeling right now.  College is fast approaching and in a year I will be getting all ready to embark on a new adventure and a new chapter of my life… and boy, does that stress me out.
I am currently planning on which colleges I want to visit this summer, and will probably spend a couple of solid weeks out on the road, exploring different schools.
I keep telling myself, "but it's summer!" and yet I think of my summer homework that awaits and the dread of looking at schools and am trying to get in a better mood about it.
I've composed a list of the ways I have made myself feel better about this stress of college.

I leave for Europe in NINE DAYS.  Holy shoot, that's coming fast.

I get to hit the road after Europe and explore some schools and have some fun adventures.

I will be going into my Senior year.  Dang.  Already?  I can't believe it, but it'll be here and over before I know it.

It is summer.  I have friends to see and memories to make.  No matter what happens, it'll be fun.

Well, as I am trying to prepare myself for the busy but FUN summer ahead, I would like to wish you a happy June!  Until next time xxx.
